Join thousands of cyclists to reclaim the streets of Lexington in the Family Fun Ride!

Free registration begins at 8:00am at the Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza at Main Street and Limestone

The Family Fun Ride takes off promptly at 10am!

Activities beginning at 8am:

Sprout Sprint
The Sprout Sprint is a youth bike race coordinated by the YMCA and is open to all kids up to age 12! This year the Sprout Sprint course will be a closed circuit and kids will be doing a series of short laps. The Sprout Sprint is FREE and all kids must complete a waiver/registration form and wear a helmet. Age groups will be 5 and under, 6 – 9, and 10 – 12. Heat races will take place every 10 minutes beginning at 8:00am until about 9:55am. Sprout Sprint registrants will be entered into a raffle to win a free children’s bike from Pedal Power!

Free Helmets and Fittings
Made possible by a grant from the Kentucky Bicycle and Bikeway Commission with funds generated by the purchase of “Share the Road” license plates by Kentucky motorists. Available while supplies last. Look for the booth next to the Sprout Sprint on Short Street.

Adult Bike Raffle after the Fun Ride
Every registered Fun Ride participant is automatically entered into the raffle and the winner will be announced after the Fun Ride. Must be present to win!

Plus: music, vendor booths, March Madness Marching Band and more!

Please note: children on tricycles and training wheels and guardians must take Upper Street from 4th Street to return to the Bike Lexington Kid Zone.

The Family Fun Ride route is designed for all riding levels and will contain police escorts on closed roads; however, if you have small children on tricycles or training wheels, we kindly ask that you take the clearly marked shortcut from W. Fourth Street onto N. Upper Street back to the Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza. N. Limestone in front of the plaza will remain closed to traffic until after the ride returns for children and those who may not be able to ride the entire route.

Please be advised that the Family Fun Ride is not a race and features a rolling closure at a child-friendly pace of 10 MPH or under. If you become spread out from the rest of the group, the road may not remain closed to vehicular traffic.
